On October 1st, our Tucson chapter held a successful first official committee meeting to identify the local issues our grassroots activists would focus on.
The event was led by Arizona Grassroots Director Paul Parisi and Tucson chapter leader Nick Pierson. Fifteen Hometown Heroes attended this event, all of whom volunteered to serve on the Tucson chapter’s committee.
This demographically diverse group was united around our shared values and enthusiastic about the potential for activism in this part of the state. The consensus among attendees was to focus on ways we can reduce crime, improve public safety, and increase civic engagement among the local Hispanic community.

We look forward to continuing to expand in Arizona, and are excited that our Tucson chapter is already making excellent progress.
