Unity in the community is one of our mottos.

That’s why on September 9, 2025, the Our America Foundation co-hosted a Safer Streets, Brighter Futures lunch in Tucson, AZ with Monica Yelin, Executive Director of the Hispanic Liberty Alliance

The invite-only event included a select group of 30 community leaders and focused on stopping crime in the Tucson area.

The event featured prominent local officials such as Mayor Tom Murphy of Sahaurita, Mayor Jorge Maldonado of Nogales, Oro Valley Police Chief Kara Riley, and Nogales Police Chief Carlos Jimenez.

Several other former law enforcement officials, local activists, and community leaders also attended the event.

On top of that, a panel discussion was organized with Art Del Cueto, former VP of the National Border Patrol Council, and Hughie Johnston, former National Boxing Champion and current  Ambassador of Turning Point USA.

Below are some photos from the event.

Arizona State Director Paul Parisi gave a presentation, and Tucson chapter leader Nick Pierson was on hand to spread the message of the Our America Foundation. As a result of their outreach, several new Hometown Heroes joined our cause.

The consensus from all attendees was that it takes an entire community to stop crime, and that we must continue to engage local citizens so they feel empowered to get involved.

Our Arizona activists look forward to hosting more events like this in the future.
