Our America recently hosted a “Keep More of What You Earn” event in Wakuesha, WI that discussed the cost of living, taxes, and a critical ballot initiative state residents will be voting on this coming November.
The event was focused on a discussion of SJR 116, also known as the “Wisconsin Prohibit Partial Veto to Increase Tax or Fee Amendment.”
If passed, this initiative would limit the governor’s ability to bypass the legislature to create or increase taxes.
We’ve previously discussed the importance of this initiative, and firmly believe that no politician should be able to single-handedly raise taxes with the stroke of a pen.
Our Wisconsin State Director Josh Naponiello led the discussion and was joined by guest speaker Roel Sanchez of the Libre Initiative.
Guests bonded over dinner and discussed public policy, the importance of getting involved in the electoral process, and the hard work that must be done to ensure our shared values are defended.
We look forward to hosting more events like these in the future as we continue to expand our efforts in Wisconsin.
