Use of Name and Logo

The chapter is authorized to use the Hometown Heroes and logo in conjunction with the chapter’s name. Our America will be the sole owner of the Hometown Heroes, acronym, and logo

Chapter Name

Chapters will be named, “Hometown Heroes at [County or City name].” Chapters are expected to use their official name for social media accounts, advertising, and all other promotional purposes.

Chapter Obligations

To remain as an active Hometown Heroes chapter, each chapter must:

  1. Have a minimum of five members.
  2. Conduct monthly team meetings, which can be virtual or in-person.
  3. Host one monthly community service, recruitment, or voter registration event a month.
  4. Organize one major event every three months.
  5. Run and maintain a social media presence in consultation with the State Director.

Chapter code of conduct

To ensure consistency and alignment with Our America’s mission, Hometown Heroes chapters must adhere to the following restrictions:

  1. Hometown Heroes may NOT endorse any candidates for any public office or legislation without prior communication/approval of Our America staff.
  2. Hometown Heroes may NOTspeak to the media as Our America representatives without prior approval by Our America staff.

Our 501(c)(3) Status

Our America is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that seeks to recruit, educate, and mobilize Americans to advance opportunity and the American Dream. 501(c)(3) organizations are non-partisan and prohibited from campaigning or helping political candidates directly or indirectly. Our America Foundation’s chapters who participate in campaign activities of any kind may jeopardize Our America’s 501(c)(3) status. Chapters found participating in campaign activities will be disassociated immediately.

Right to Disassociation

If this chapter is found to be operating outside of the guidelines outlined by Our America, and/or leaders or members of the chapter participate in activities or demonstrate conduct deemed inappropriate by Our America, Our America reserves the right to disassociate with the chapter and revoke the group’s right to operate under the Hometown Heroes or Our America name. Our America also reserves the right to dissociate from any chapter that fails to communicate with the National Organization.
